Arsenal’s general secretary David Miles has told fans that contract talks with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are ‘looking pretty good’.

The Gunners are in negotiations with the pair over new deals to remain at the club beyond summer 2018.

It’s believed both players agents have teamed up to get the best deal possible for their clients, comparing notes at each turn of the talks.

Reports claim Sanzhez and Ozil want upward of £300,000-a-week as they are Arsenal’s two biggest stars at the club, which many will not argue.

And although there have been suggestions of talks at a halt, Miles believes the club can come to agreements with the pair, saying negotiations are ‘looking pretty good’ at the moment:

‘Of course, we know talks are ongoing with certain players and certain contracts.

‘At the moment, things are looking pretty good in that way.’

Last week, Arsene Wenger said the duo will remain at the club even if they fail to agree extensions on their current contracts. But Miles’ latest comments will give Arsenal fans a huge boost on the matter. Hopefully talks continue to progress in a positive way and the duo sign on the dotted line sooner rather than later.
