Wenger hits out at bad tackle from Rose

|

Arsene Wenger has slammed Danny Rose for the tackle that could see Hector Bellerin out of action until Christmas.

The two defenders clashed in the closing stages of the London derby on November 6 with Bellerin forced to call off from u-21 duty with Spain.

After having the ankle injury assessed the 21-year-old faces a month on the sidelines with Wenger unhappy at the circumstances involved:

He got injured in the last ten seconds against Spurs after a very strong tackle by Danny Rose.

It’s an ankle injury. It was a bad one. It’s annoying to lose Bellerin. Did Rose want to injure Bellerin? I don’t think so. He just went in for the tackle.’

By raising the issue two weeks after the match Wenger is stoking up tension between the two clubs as the title race intensifies.

Bellerin will miss out on Arsenal’s two remaining Champions League matches against PSG and Basel just as he was hitting top form.

Santi Cazorla will also miss tomorrow’s trip to Old Trafford while Wenger will assess the fitness of Alexis Sanchez in training today before decing whether to play the striker in a match where an away win would put the Gunners nine points ahead of Manchester United.
