Cech’s point in perspective

Despite the joy of Olivier Giroud’s late goal Petr Cech was in no mood to celebrate a draw at Old Trafford.

The former Chelsea keeper was in top form as he kept the visitors in the game allowing super sub Giroud to take a point back to The Emirates.

In most circumstances grabbing a late point against a title contender is a cause for celebration but Cech took a more detached view of the 90 minutes.

Obviously we are not pleased with the performance but we have to take the point because we were losing and we equalised with three minutes to go,” the keeper told the official club website.

It was a great action and I thought maybe we deserved a little bit of credit for scoring the goal because as I said it was not our best performance and anyway we managed to get a result in a big game.

We keep our unbeaten run going and that’s positive, but obviously we would’ve liked to win and keep the run going.”

While the visiting support left Old Trafford satisfied with a point the Unhappy One in the home dug out was far from pleased.

Despite the millions spent on his squad this season’s side don’t look radically different to the team’s put out by Davie Moyes and Lois van Gaal.

After going through a number of hard luck aspects from the match Jose Mourinho ended his media conference with: “Finally I lost against Arsenal. That is the feeling I take home. Finally I lost against Arsenal.”
