Great news ahead of the north London derby, Mesut Ozil is ready to commit his future to Arsenal.

The German playmaker has been in sensational form for the Gunners this season, and the club are ready to reward him a new contract which they are confident the 28-year-old will put pen to paper on a £160,000-a-week, five-year deal.

It is being reported by The Daily Mirror that talks between the club and the player are at an advanced stage which will continue after the international break. A club source claims they are ‘getting closer’ to a deal being confirmed.

Ozil has less than two-years left to run on his existing deal at the Emirates and Arsene Wenger is determined to keep the German maestro put.

It is thought that summer signing and fellow German compatriot Shkodran Mustafi has helped the club’s cause in persuading Ozil to extend his stay.

As a huge admirer of Ozil’s ability, I would love nothing more for him to remain at the club and achieve ‘Arsenal legend’ status.
