Arsenal are plotting a move for Marseille youngster Boubacar Kamara.

The newly turned 17-year-old is viewed as one of the brightest prospects currently operating in France. But he is yet to sign pro terms with the Ligue 1 outfit.

And French publication, L’Equipe, as several reports claim, that the Gunners have contacted Kamara’s representatives and are looking to bring the young centre-back to the Emirates during the January transfer window.

Marseille winger Remy Cabella believes Kamara will become a great player in the future:

‘If he stays with us he will become a great player.

‘When you look at him, he does not look like he’s 16. He progresses quickly, he will become a great player.’

Arsene Wenger is renowned for plucking young talent from Europe and developing them into household names. He also has a vast knowledge of the French league and the players coming through the ranks in his home country and reportedly sees something in Kamara he likes.

Although Marseille is Kamara’s boyhood club, a move to Arsenal may prove too tempting to turn down.

Should Kamara join the Gunners, he would more than likely be placed within the youth ranks to continue his development.
