Should this Gunner be playing more regularly?

|

Speaking in Arsenal’s pre-match press conference ahead of their Champions League tie away in Bulgaria against Ludogorets, Olivier Giroud, as quoted by The Independent, has said he is happy to wait for a chance to start up front more regularly for the Gunners.

The Frenchman, who helped get his country to the EURO 2016 final, has not featured as much as he would have liked this season with Alexis Sanchez being preferred up front and fitness issues also blighting his cause.

He did, however, come on in the game against Sunderland at the weekend with the score at 1-1 and scored a quick-fire brace to help the Gunners take the three points leading him to say that, whilst he is happy to be patient, he’s also feeling ready to show he is in good form:

‘It’s good to be back in contention. In every big club you have a lot of good strikers with different qualities and the team has been doing very well since the start of the season.

‘I’ve hoped to come back in and I’ve worked hard in training to do so but I’m happy as long as the team are winning and I’ve seen we have good cohesion as a side. So I’m not questioning myself too much about my place.

‘I just need to play more and keep training well and show I’m in good form. That’s what I always try and bring to the team… I’m just concentrating on what I have to do on the pitch. My turn will come.’

Arsenal will qualify tonight if they win and PSG follow suit, leaving Arsene Wenger to contemplate another knockout stage with the club.
