Several clubs, including Arsenal, are monitoring Porto’s rising star Andre Silva.

The 21-year-old striker was in action for Porto as they drew 1-1 at home to Benfica, and The Sun reports that scouts from both Manchester clubs, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Juventus were all in attendance to run the rule on the player.

The Portuguese youngster has been in scintillating form for Porto this season, netting 10 goals in 16 appearances in all competitions to date, which has caught the attention of Europe’s elite.

Silva, who plays in the style of a typical no.9 role, is believed to have been on Arsenal’s radar for almost a year. However, the Gunners, or any other team for that matter, never made an approach for him, despite reportedly being available for £22 million over the summer.

It’s a chance missed by those interested in Silva who signed a new five-year deal contract at the beginning of the season, taking his buy-out clause to a hefty £53 million.

The Portugal international now looks highly likely to remain at the Porto up until at least the end of the season.

But with super-agent Jorge Mendes now acting on the behalf of Silva, the young striker could be set for a big-money move next summer to one of Europe’s top clubs.
