Mesut Ozil has thrown his future in doubt after reportedly claiming he is keen on a return to Real Madrid.
According to German newspaper Bild, via the Irish Independent, the 27-year-old playmaker would reportedly be interested in a move back to the Bernabeu, if he was offered the chance to do so in the near future.
This is not the first time that Ozil has hinted at an exit from the Emirates, with the German admitting a few months ago that he would love to join Fenerbache within the next three years.
Arsene Wenger is confident that he can get the German international to extend his contract at Arsenal, but the creative midfielder is set to stall talks for the time being.
With under two years left to run on his current contract at the Emirates, it is believed Ozil wants to consider his options before committing his future to the Gunners, and supposedly has unfinished business at Real Madrid.
Ozil has not stayed longer than four years at any club that he’s been at in the past, and with this being his fourth with Arsenal, could it be his last?
