The father of reported Arsenal target Shkodran Mustafi has revealed that a number of clubs are interested in signing the Germany international.

The Gunners are down to their bare bones at centre-half currently and expect seasoned campaigners Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista to be on the sidelines for a considerable amount of time.

A deal to land Mustafi has been touted in the British and European press over the last month, with it believed to be only a matter of time before the Valencia defender was added to Arsene Wenger’s squad.

However, negotiations are taking longer than the Emirates Stadium faithful would like and there still has been no definitive news on whether the former Sampdoria stalwart will be moving to North London.

With time closing in the transfer window, Kujtim Mustafi has stated that his son has a number of options available to him.

“Very soon you will know about the future of Mustafi,” he told Goal.

“Two or more clubs are in negotiations.”

Mustafi has been a member of the impressive Germany national team for a number of years and helped his country win the World Cup in Brazil two years ago.
