According to reports from London Evening Standard, Manchester United will reject any approach Arsenal make to sign Phil Jones because Jose Mourinho doesn’t want to do business with Arsene Wenger.

The Telegraph reported yesterday that the Gunners were considering the England international amid their search for a new centre-half, following injures to defensive duo Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista.

However, The Telegraph also suggested that a deal would be unlikely, revealing that Jones has been informed his future remains with the Old Trafford outfit for now.

Following up, London Evening Standard claim that Jose Mourinho’s infamously frosty relationship with Wenger is one of the reasons the deal won’t happen – with the United boss reluctant to strengthen his ‘bitter rival‘.

The Portuguese and the Frenchman have clashed on several occasions since the former arrived in the Premier League in 2004 – coincidentally, the same year Arsenal last won the Premier League title.

And the bad blood reached boiling point in 2014 as the duo partook in a touchline shoving match. Arsene won, of course!
