Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is intent on bringing French forward Alexandre Lacazette to North London and will make an improved offer for the star in the near future, according to Sky Sports.

The Gunners are in the market for a centre forward to compete with Olivier Giroud in 2016-17 and have been linked with a host of big-name strikers.

Lyon have confirmed that they rejected a bid in the £30 million region from Arsenal for Lacazette, who is in demand this summer.

Contrasting reports in the media have stated Wenger’s contrasting intent over the France international, with some stating that he was ready to turn his attention to other targets.

However, the latest news state that Arsenal will return with an improved offer for Lacazette, which could well force the Ligue 1 outfit to consider selling their prize asset.

West Ham have already failed in an attempt to land the striker this summer, but the allure of the Emirates Stadium could well turn the star’s head.
