Arsenal are ready to make their third signing of the summer, with a £2.5 million move for highly rated Bolton Wanderers defender Rob Holding in the pipeline according to The Sun.

The 20-year-old has impressed in The Championship, making 26 starts for the relegated club last season and displaying all the attributes to catch the eye of visiting scouts.

A host of Premier League clubs have been linked with a move for the progressive centre-half, with no suggestion that Holding will still be in the Bolton squad when the new League One season kicks off.

Arsenal have had success in buying young English talent in the past and could certainly use another centre-half to bolster Arsene Wenger’s squad.

The latest report suggests that the North London club have already had an offer for the England under-21 starlet rejected by Bolton but the new bid could be enough to see Holding move to the Emirates Stadium.
