Emanuel Mammana, Kevin GameiroArsenal are battling Spurs for the signature of River Plate defender Emanuel Mammana.

The 19-year-old is also reportedly being tracked by Serie A side Fiorentina, who have already made a bid. It is believed the Florence club increased their opening offer to £6.5 million to get the deal done swiftly.

However, according to Italian publication Tuttosport, as reported by the Telegraph, River Plate want a bid that matches Mammana’s valuation of £7.5 million, leaving the door open for the Gunners to make a move before Monday’s deadline.

Arsenal could do with some defensive reinforcements coming in this month, and the Argentina international’s versatility along the back-line could be beneficial to Arsene Wenger’s side who are still in three competitions this season and giving you plenty of opportunity to use your StanJames bonus.

Mammana is contracted to River Plate until summer 2019, but will Wenger make a move for the youngster having previously stated that he doesn’t expect a busy end to the transfer window?

  • Bakri says:

Why Arsenal Are Always Battling to sign a player, battling With Real Madrid , Barcelona , Byrun Munich or even Manchester City these club are richer than Arsenal and they are playing in the Champion League , but why Arsenal are struggling with Spurs who are not richer than Arsenal and they are not playing in the Champion League and the are just starting to build their new Stadium , well there must be something wrong with the people who are in charge of the transfer business at Arsenal if they can not sign a young kid from River Plate.
