Is this really a move Arsenal should be making?

Joel CampbellArsenal have reportedly offered Joel Campbell’s services to Celta Vigo in exchange for Nolito’s.

With the likes of Alexis Sanchez injured, Campbell has finally been able to get a decent run in the Arsene Wenger’s side, starting four in the Gunners’ last five Premier League games.

The Costa Rican forward made his 16 appearance of the season yesterday against Bournemouth and has continued his decent form which has pleased the Arsenal faithful as of late.

But it is now claimed by Spanish publication Don Balon that Wenger has offered Campbell as a makeweight in a bid to snap up Nolito when the January transfer window opens on Friday.

It is thought Arsenal have held initial talks with Celta Vigo for the signing of the 29-year-old Spaniard at the start of the month, with the Gunners determined to land the striker.

Barcelona are also understood to be interested in Nolito, but Wenger looks determined to beat the La Liga club to the punch for his services.

Nolito has been in sensational form for Celta Vigo this season, bagging eight goals and five assists in 15 La Liga games thus far.

Nolito is believed to be valued at around £13.3 million – a price Wenger is unwilling to pay for a player approaching 30 – and has valued Campbell at around the £7 million mark.

So should Don Balon’s claim be true, Arsenal would only have to pay Celta £6.3 million for Nolito – a price you would think Wenger would be willing to shell out.

Wenger has always stated that Campbell is in his long-term plans, but with the Frenchman desperate to sign a prolific striker to help continue their charge for the Premier League title this season, he may have to change his stance on the matter.

Would you exchange Campbell for Nolito this January?

he is not better than our current boys. to suggest that Campell should move to the other side is not been fair to the boy. he is going to come good and that is why Wenger brougth him back.we have enough strikers as by now.

Yeah, I would love to see that happen, especially when they are compared one on one, Nalito is better. One; he is more trickier with the ball than Campbell, He is more clinical on goal than Campbell, He is as quick as Campbell, He does help defenders when need arises, He always remind me of David Villa, I would love seeing this guy wearing Arsenal No.7 or 9, and running and beating defenders in frond there with his tricks. I am just desperate.
