Mauro IcardiInter Milan’s sporting director Piero Ausilio would ‘hang up’ if Arsene Wenger made an approach for Mauro Icardi.

The 22-year-old striker is regarded as one of Europe’s finest finishers following and impressive season with Roberto Mancini’s side so far.

The Argentine’s performances so far this season is said to have caught the attention of Wenger, who is believed to want to add another forward to his side when the January transfer window opens.

Reports have suggested that Wenger is a keen admirer of Icardi, who has scored three goals in 10 Serie A appearances this term, and is thought to be considering a move for the striker.

But Ausilio has quashed any hope of the Gunners landing their prized asset after claiming he is simply not for sale.

When asked by the press if a club offers £35 million for Icardi’s services, Ausilio said:

‘I’d hang up.’

Icardi joined Inter in 2013 and only recently penned a new lucrative deal to remain at the San Siro club, with the youngster himself saying he has zero intention of leaving the Italian side anytime soon.

Should Arsenal truly want to sign Icardi this winter, it seems they’d have to shell out a hell of a lot of cash to prise him away from Inter – clearly £35 million won’t be enough.
