Oguzhan OzyakupArsenal are lining up a January move for former Gunner Oguzhan Ozyakup, according to reports in Turkey.

The 23-year-old spent four seasons at the Emirates, making a total of two appearances, before leaving the club for Besiktas in 2012 for a mere £500,000.

However, talkSPORT suggests that reports in Turkey claim Arsenal are now looking into the possibility of re-signing Ozyakup when the January transfer window opens.

Arsene Wenger was unable to acquire a defensive midfielder during the summer but may decide to do so in the winter and believes the Turkey international fits the bill.

But Besiktas are keen to hold onto the technical midfielder and will only do business if a bid of around £15 million is tabled for his signature.

Oyakup has certainly developed into a decent player since leaving the club three years ago and also performed extremely well against us in the Champions League last season.

But is he what the club really need?

The Turkish midfielder is more of a creator than someone who will get stuck in and make interceptions, and for this reason, I believe a move for him this January, if reports are too believed, wouldn’t be ideal.

I do think he is a good player, but not what we currently need to make this team better.
