Karim Benzema
If Arsenal are indeed looking to add some firepower this summer, then the Real Madrid forward is the ideal candidate.
The 27-year-old has been prolific throughout his career for both Lyon and Real and has been on Wenger’s radar for a number of seasons.
Reports suggest Wenger has personally spoken to Karim over the phone over a possible move.
Arsenal have reportedly had a £31.3 million move turned down, but Wenger is prepared to try again with another bid before the window shuts.
Benzema would do an excellent job linking up with Olivier Giroud, or equally lead the line on his own. He is a phenomenal finisher and his movement to get in the right places at the right time contributes to his goal tally. The France international would suit our style of play perfectly and would surely bag a horde of goals with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla and Alexis Sanchez feeding him.
Fans want to see Alexandre Lacazette arrive at the Emirates and although the Lyon man is also lethal in front of goal, for me, Benzema boasts Champions League experience and has the winning mentality we could do with. He could potentially cost £40 million – £5 million more than Lacazette – but it would be well worth it.
Recent reports suggests he is ‘certain’ to stay at the Bernabeu, but they also said that about Ozil – look where he is now.
If Real manage to acquire Marco Reus from Dortmund, then this could well trigger Benzema’s sale – hopefully to Arsenal
Money talks, and it’s understood we have spending power this summer, so anything is possible.
arsen wenger and arsenal fc hierachy are busy talking but are not doing anything worthy. Look at man untd , chelsea and man city, they’ve already signed few quality players while we have ongly managed one. Where are the strikers,benzima,lachazet and lewandosky?
Best things comes to those who wait….lets see how things plan out with these crop of players for the beginning of the season, bearing in mind how they performed towards the latter end of last season when ever body was fit.
i preffer menzema plus either laccazett or lewandosky upfront. With lars bendar as dm i totaly with writer above b’cos we need cover for fransis cocuelin. I mean one dm is not enough at all. The problem i don’t c wenger acting but too much talking, he has to be activ and as quick as yesterday!
With the emergence of francis in the DM position, I don’t see any big name coming. If any player will be bought, it should be a front man with goals scoring record. I don’t see Benzema coming 100%. Real needs him.
I want gud striker at arsenal, like kareem benzema, lewadozki, or vargas. pls wenger we must buy sharp striker. oliver giroud can not do anything for arsenal. luk at man utd, mancity,liverpool,chelsea and barcelona. atlist all of them of sign about three or two world class players.pls once again sign gud striker 4 us. thanks, always gunners !!!

With all these criticisms and ideas, do you think Wenger is not feeling the heat. I think there are too many coaches and advisers on the sidelines. At the end of the transfer season, it turns out that he didn’t do enough under the circumstances,and with the budget available then we can crucify him. Happy GUNNERS.
