EIGHT strikers Arsenal should look at this summer

|

Gonzalo Higuain (Napoli)

The man most Arsenal fans want to see signed this summer, but it will come at a hefty price.

The 27-year-old was linked with a move to Arsenal when he was a Real Madrid player, but he opted to join Napoli instead.

Since his move to the Naples club, Higuain has continued his prolificacy in front of goal and is regarded as one of the best forwards in Serie A today. 51 goals and 21 assists in 98 appearances for Napoli is impressive, hence why Arsenal are interested in the Argentine.

It is believed the player would favour a move to Arsenal after Napoli failed to qualify for the Champions League this season, and the club’s president Aurelio de Laurentiis is willing to sanction the sale – but only if Higuain’s £67 million buyout clause is met.

Arsenal have the spending power this summer and reports suggest that the club are looking to break the record transfer fee of £42.5 million they splashed out to sign Mesut Ozil two years ago this summer – could it be for Higuain?

Domenico Berardi (Sassuolo)

This 20-year-old is taking Serie A by storm…with Sassuolo!

The young Italian is a hard-working forward, who also possesses great technique, intuition and a piercing eye for goal

Berardi has managed to score 42 goals and contribute 16 assists in 96 appearances so far for the Serie A minnows – it makes for even better reading when you know he actually isn’t a typical centre-forward! Although he can play in this position, Berardi is primarily a winger and can also be utilized behind the striker.

The Italian has been likened to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and although he still has four-years left on his current deal at Sassuolo, the lure of Champions League football and playing with players like Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla may be too great to turn down.

Berardi is valued at around the £13 million mark, but Arsenal may have to pay at least double to sign him considering the length of his current deal at Sassuolo.
