Arsenal are ready to test Napoli’s resolve by offering the Italian club £42.5 million for the services of Gonzalo Higuain, according to reports in Italy.
The 27-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, with the Argentine thought to be frustrated with life in Italy. It is believed Higuain wants to play Champions League football next season and Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen to add to his attacking options.
A deal between the two clubs looked dead in the water after Napoli valued Higuain at £67 million, but Arsenal haven’t given up hope of landing the Argentina international and are now preparing a £42.5 million offer, according to Sportmediaset.
Wenger has been a keen admirer of Higuain for a number of seasons and came close to signing him before the forward left Real Madrid in 2013.
We could well do with a top striker coming in and, for me, Higuain is certainly in this category.
£42.5 million should be more than enough to land him – hopefully Napoli accept the offer.
Come on Napoli play ball ?
Thats very good!wenger should hurry as this would be a great deal for arsenal this season
I really would love to see Higuian come in but this transfer would break two rules that have been at the center of the Arsenal transfer policy. One: buy them young and secondly, buy them cheap. I think the Pedro rumours hold more water than this. Whatever we do, i hope all our additions come in early. This will help the team jell and connect in the pre-season…
Wenger should not go for him, he’s not that good a player of Arsenal fc
Higuain has been a flop at Napoli and was a flop at the copa America. What do we want him at arsenal for? And at that kind of price! Arsenal need a word class striker not a expensive flop.
We don’t need a dull striker like him, it is even too expensive, we should not waste our money on him.
wenger should try and get the best strike and best standard four so that I can salange the premier league.
that will be a good buy
even Giraud is better him so let him b we need sharp striker lyk suares & aguearo
pedro will do
