HiguainGonzalo Higuain is set to sign a massive deal with Arsenal this summer, according to Jose Alberti.

The Argentine forward is thought to be unhappy at Napoli and wants to play Champions League football next season.

The 29-year-old is being heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, but Manchester United and Chelsea are also said to be interested in the £40 million-rated star.

However, Naples icon Alberti says he is ‘90% sure’ Higuain will sign for Arsenal this summer:

‘I’m 90% sure he will go to Arsenal.

‘The contract could be a minimum of £3.6million-a-year.

‘It’s not possible that he will remain at Napoli this year after they missed out on the Champions League.’

Well if Alberti is correct, then Arsenal will have to splash out £36.4 million for Higuain – a fee which Arsene Wenger has parted with in the last two summer transfer windows.

We do need a forward to help and challenge Olivier Giroud, and I Higuain would be an excellent candidate for the job. He’s a proven goalscorer and, potentially, a striker who could fire us to domestic and European glory.

Hopefully, what Alberti said is true – only time will tell of course.

Higuain is an excellent striker whom I would like to see at Arsenal but will all depend on the coach. If he doesn’t delay till we miss out on all our targets and have to stick to Geroud.

So if Gonzalo Higuain is not happy at Napoli FC, and wants to play Champions League Football, it is at Arsenal he will become happy by earning £3.6m per year and plays Champions League football? Hmm. I think Arsenal will not pay £3.6m/year or 300K/m to Higuain – 29. When have Arsenal started to pay a Wyane Rooney’s wages to an aging Gunner? And didn’t Arsenal already have 3 strikers in the persons of: Giroud and the will be converted to strikers: Walcott and Welbeck for their next season campaign?

why is that all the good stinkers available are 28 years and above. Age could be factor when Wenger is deciding on a striker being that Giroud is also 28.

Wages are paid per week 3.6m is about 70k per week .which Walcott earns higher than that.
