Joel CampbellReal Sociedad are ready to launch a £6 million bid to sign Joel Campbell, according to the Daily Mail.

David Moyes attempted to sign the 2-year-old forward last summer, but Arsene Wenger was unwilling to let the Costa Rican leave on a permanent basis. Instead, Campbell moved to Villarreal on loan as part of an £11 million deal which saw Gabriel Paulista join the Gunners,

But Moyes is determined to take Campbell away from the Emirates to the Anoeta Stadium this summer and is ready to hand over £6 million to do so.

It’s believed Moyes wants to strengthen Sociedad’s attack after improving their defence last season by bringing in three new forwards – one being Campbell.

Campbell made just nine appearances for Arsenal last season before joining Villarreal in January, where he made featured 22 times for the La Liga club.

Despite his potential and trickery, Campbell has struggled to fit into Wenger’s first-team plans and after signing Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck last summer, the Frenchman maybe prepared to let the Costa Rica international leave permanently in the upcoming months.

But is £6 million a sufficient sum for Arsenal to take for Campbell’s potential sale? I believe so.

Considering we signed him for under £1 million, to potentially recoup £6 million, is pretty decent business – especially for a player that hasn’t hit the ground running at the club.
