STerling RaheemRaheem Sterling has been linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, two days before Liverpool visit the Emirates.

The 20-year-old has only one-year left to run on his existing deal at Anfield and has admitted he is flattered by the Arsenal interest and also turned down a new offer from the Merseyside club – believed to be in the region of £100,000-a-week – suggesting money is not behind his decision, should he decide to depart at the end of the season.

As a result, the England winger is being tipped to leave Liverpool, with Arsenal a possible destination, and Arsene Wenger has refused to rule out a move for the youngster but played down the reported interest.

The Frenchman believes he is one of the best players in the country but does not want to comment any further on the matter as the two sides prepare to meet on Saturday afternoon:

‘Raheem Sterling is a top player, everybody in the country knows that now. He is a very important player for Liverpool of course.

‘I don’t want to interfere in that [contract talks] 48 hours before the game. It’s not my problem.

‘I don’t want to speak about it anymore, we are not in a transfer period, we are in front of a big game.’

Brendan Rodgers has come out and suggested Sterling will not be leaving Liverpool this summer, but anything can happen from now until the end of the season.
