Arsenal starlet going nowhere…for now

|

Hector BellerinGood news Arsenal fans, Hector Bellerin has ruled out the possibility of a return to Barcelona…for the time being.

The Spain Under-21 international was nabbed from the Catalan club in 2011 and has now broke into the first-team this season – making 20 appearances in all competitions thus far – due to Mathieu Debuchy being sidelined for the majority of the campaign with injuries.

The 19-year-old has impressed with his performances this season, so much so that he has been linked with a move back to former club Barcelona in recent weeks.

It is thought Barca are looking at their former academy product to replace the soon-to-be-departing Dani Alves this summer

However, Bellerin, who only recently signed a new long-term deal, has poured cold water on the speculation regarding a move back to Barcelona at the end of the season, insisting he is ‘good’ at Arsenal:

‘I am good at Arsenal, but you do not know what the future may hold.

‘The Arsenal is giving me everything I am with amazing players.

‘I do not think about the future. I just started.

‘I thank the people who speak well of me, but I’m only in the beginning. What has to arrive, will arrive.’

The Spanish right-back has emerged as a very hot prospect for the Gunners, and the club would be wise to keep hold of him for as long as he can. If he continues to shine and Wenger sticks with him, then we could have a world class right-back on our hands within the next five years.
