Nabil Fekir insists he will only join Arsenal if he is not guaranteed regular first-team football at the Emirates.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has been linked with a summer move to Arsenal, with his father subsequently revealing earlier in the year that he felt the Emirates would be the ideal destination if he were to ever leave Lyon.
However, Fekir, who is valued at around £20 million and still has over four years left on his current deal at the Stade Gerland, has told Arsene Wenger to forget about him unless the he can assure him a starting place in his side.
Fekir reportedly told French publication L’Equipe:
‘With all the great players at Arsenal it would be difficult for me to get a place in their team.
‘You never know what might happen. But I don’t want to leave Lyon too early, and end up sitting on a sub’s bench somewhere.
‘I love to play. I am not happy if I don’t get games.’
Fekir has 10 goals and six assists to his name, having featured 24 times for the Ligue 1 club so far this season.
Wenger is believed to be a keen admirer of the youngster, but the Frenchman may not be able to guarantee him regular first-team football at the Emirates as he already has a number of attacking midfield players in his current side.
