What area should Wenger strengthen next?

ClickWenger26 days into the January transfer window and Arsenal have already snapped up two new signings…well sort of. Arsene Wenger brought in 17-year-old Krystian Bielik from Legia Warsaw for a fee between £2-3 million and are on the verge of signing Gabriel Paulista from Villarreal for around £13 million. So far so good. Wenger stated he wanted to bring at least two new faces in before the window closed and the Frenchman has delivered. But he’s not stopping there, with the boss claiming the club are still on the hunt for more signings.

Before the winter window opened, Arsenal fans were crying out for defensive reinforcement, both in the back-line and in the midfield department, and Wenger has duly answered their calls. It seems the Frenchman has achieved what he’s set out this January and recalling Francis Coquelin back from Charlton proved to be a wise move all round.

With this being said and Wenger still wanting to strengthen his squad before the end of the month, what areas should he look to improve?

Personally, I believe a striker could be added, if anything. Wenger sent Lukas Podolski, Yaya Sanogo and newly Joel Campbell to Inter Milan, Crystal Palace and Villarreal respectively, leaving us with only Olivier Giroud as an accomplished centre-forward – Theo Waclott, Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez can play in this position but are all more effective on the wing rather than leading the attack on their lonesome. So signing a striker would be beneficial and give Wenger more options in the latter stages of the season.

The problem with signing a striker is no world class available. Cavani is cup tied for Ucl. So Giroud or Welbeck could lead the line till the end of the season as we play a 4_3_3

he has akpom. play him rather than lose him

Add a proven DM. If Khadir is available, get him or any world class DM. Flamini is done. Just go back and look at the Brighton game. There were so many missed opportunities for Brighton. Against quality sides like CHELSEA, Madrid, the Two Manchesters and even Liverpool, they would have at least created three clear cut chances Becks of Flamini poor positioning and wild enthusiastic defending

I think Khadira is my candidate fir Center half. He is strong as a bull and does’t back down from anybody. He is great and support those fluffy, speedy and clever forewords for Arsenal.

Arsenal need a quality defensive midfielder lyk victor wanyama, sissoko are all available not striker we have enough attacking force

  • Sylvia says:

With the signings of Beilik and Paulista, Arsenal are 80% strong first team wise. And could become 90-95% stronger when Welbeck, Wilshere and Debuchy are back into the first team squad. To me, the boss has finished the business of the January transfer window with his signings of 2 players in addition to the 4 players he already signed in the summer. Which makes them a total of 6 new players he has signed. But he has also off-loaded 6 Gunners in the persons of: Jenkinson(loaned), Podolski(loaned), Sanogo(loaded), Afobe(sold), Ajayi(on trial) and Campbell(loaned).

BENZEMA and KHEDIRA maybe GROSSKREUTZ too why not competition is good I’d happily accept 2 if not all 3

  • Robgunner says:

Plus if we already loaned players and sold then there’s room for more no questions about it
