Ravel MorrisonEvery manager looks for that ‘special deal’, season in, season out. We have seen some superb transfer dealings in the past at our own club and at others. Just last summer for instance, we managed to sign Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona and the Chilean has easily been the Premier League’s best player so far – a quality signing from Arsene Wenger.

I’m sure Wenger will continue to look for that ‘special deal’ for as long as he remains at the Emirates, but he may only need to take a short trip down to London E13 to find it, according to Barry Silkman.

The 62-year-old is the agent of Ravel Morrison and believes Arsenal would be pulling off not only a very big deal, but the ‘deal of the century’ in his eyes if they decide to sign the former Manchester United rebel this month – big statement right?

The 21-year-old has become surplus to requirements at West Ham after failing to impress on loan at Cardiff this season and is highly expected to depart Upton park before the January transfer window closes.

Morrison has been heavily linked with a move to Italy, but Silkman reckons the England Under-21 international is good enough to play for Arsenal, suggesting the youngster could even get in the ‘team tomorrow’:

‘Wherever he goes is his last chance. Ravel could get into Arsenal’s team tomorrow. His ability is unbelievable, he is fantastic.

‘Whoever gets Ravel now will get the best deal that’s been done this century in football.’

Silkman finished off by saying there is no downside to this potential deal for any team in the Premier League:

‘Personally, if I was a Premier League manager, I would now be desperate to take him until the end of the season.

‘This is the biggest no brainer. There is no gamble.’

Even though Morrison may have great ability and potential, he has a bad boy attitude which Wenger will not tolerate or want to deal with.

Could he get into Arsenal’s team tomorrow? Not a chance, and as for the move being a no-brainer, clubs will not want the hassle of managing this rebel, hence why United got rid of him in the first place.

Silkman is obviously trying to get his client a move so he can line his pockets along the way, and to say it would be the ‘deal of the century’ is absolutely ridiculous and quite desperate.
