Barcelona star Pedro is back on Arsene Wenger’s radar this January, according to reports in Spain.
The 27-year-old was reportedly close to signing for the Gunners before the World Cup began but the club were unable to convince the La Liga outfit to sell the Spaniard.
It is thought that Pedro remains keen on a move to the Premier League with his first-team role under threat after the arrival of Luis Suarez from Liverpool this summer.
Wenger has a number of players side-lined through injuries and may have to enter the January transfer market to bolster his options, and sees Pedro as a quality acquisition that could boost the club’s title credentials.
Although there is no indication from Pedro or his agent that he is unhappy at Barcelona, he could soon consider his options when Suarez becomes available after finishing his ban.
We could certainly do with a typical winger at the club as Wenger continues to play midfielders out of position.
Pedro would add width, pace, positional versatility and industriousness to our attack and bolster Wenger’s attacking options significantly.
Yes would be great signing but what about defence? ? We need a centre back and a defensive midfileder!
