Arsene WengerArsenal are monitoring the progress of Brazil wonderkid Rodrigo Caio, and chief scout Steve Rowley recommends the club continue to do so following a recent viewing of the youngster in France.

Rowley was sent to France by Arsene Wenger to watch the Toulon tournament and spot emerging talents.

And it seems Rowley recommends the north London club continue to keep tabs on the 20-year-old central defender, who was named player of the tournament.

Rodrigo, naturally a centre-back by trade but can also operate in the centre of midfield, currently plays for Sao Paulo and is contracted to the Brazilian outfit until 2016.

Although the young defender, who has made 51 appearances in three years at Sao Paulo, would have difficulties in obtaining a work permit in England as he has yet to feature for Brazil’s senior side.

Nonetheless, Arsenal appear keen on Rodrigo and are supposedly plotting a future move for the Brazilian.
