Arsenal are reportedly ready to bring back Carlos Vela from Real Sociedad for as little as £3 million.
While this would be a wise move in some people’s eyes, I simply don’t get what the gunners are playing at.
Yes Vela is a very technical player and has proved in Spain for Sociedad that when he gets a string of games under his belt the Mexican forward can deliver and show what he can do.
But what was the point of Arsene Wenger and co. selling him only to buy him back?
I am a big fan of Vela and although I would like to see him back in the Arsenal colours, if we want to be challenging for silverware we need to spend big on a serious striker. I was well annoyed to see Chelsea land Diego Costa after we were heavily linked with him over the winter – this is a type of player we need to bring in, and with all due respect, Vela is nowhere near the Atletico forward’s level.
Why not go for Loic Remy instead of bringing back Vela? The Frenchman wants to play for Arsenal and is leaving on the cheap from QPR this summer.
As I stated, Vela would be welcomed back with open arms but unless he plays it would be pointless.

Vela needs time on the ball, which he gets in spai.. In the prem though he wouldn’t and he’d struggle again. He’s made for Spain.
We need pace back in our game. And we’re short on our wings. So Vela fits the bill very well on the left. With walcott on the right, vela on the left and a world class striker up front.

And b4 u say it, I know rosicky and cazorla prefer the centre, but we have arteta Ramsey flamini wilshire diaby coquelin ozil
Either way that is 15 players currently fighting for 5 positions. Sure in coquelin and ryo we have 2 players who may have missed their chance now and in gnabry we have one who is probably not ready
