It’s now or never

Arsene WengerIt could have gone any better this weekend. Arsenal beat Everton 4-1 to progress to the semi-finals of the FA Cup, Tottingham were dealt another battering this time at the hands of Chelsea and Manchester City made a shock exit in the FA Cup yesterday to Wigan – leaving us to play the Championship side, while the other semi-final is Hull v Sheffield United.

We all know about our trophy drought which is approaching the nine year mark, but after City’s exit in the FA Cup, surely the cup is now ours to lose.

It is undoubtedly our best chance to put an end to our trophy drought and if for some reason we don’t manage to lift the FA Cup this season then I don’t know when or where our next piece of silverware will come from.

I hope Arsene Wenger doesn’t underestimate or take Wigan lightly though, as they have proved that they are a tenacious and hardworking side from their display yesterday at the Etihad Stadium.

If there is a time for Wenger to take a competition seriously then this is it and I hope the Frenchman doesn’t blow it this time around or there could be stern consequences. As Elvis once said: It’s now or never!
