Would he be to blame if we don’t win the league title?

|

Arsene WengerBefore the boring 0-0 stalemate against Manchester United in mid-week but after the 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool at Anfield last week, I asked a few of my family members and mates that if we failed to win the Premier League title then who do we point the finger of blame at? The players or Arsene Wenger?

The answer was unanimous with pretty much all of them saying Wenger has to take full responsibility if the Gunners don’t manage to lift the title at the end of the season, and Wenger agrees:

‘If you declare you are not in the race then you cannot lose it. It’s as simple as that.

‘Our job is to be ambitious and try to win [the Premier League]. If we do not win then we take full responsibility for that.

‘We are in the title race. We’ll have a go and give it everything. If we don’t win it I will take full responsibility.’

Of course the players have to take a share of the blame if they don’t win the title this season, but ultimately it all comes down to the manager. He is the one who has to motivate them. He is the one that picks the team. He is the one that makes the crucial calls during the games, and he is the one that strengthens the side during the transfer windows.

Arsenal have done extremely well to be where they are with only 12 games to go – no one expected us to be challenging for the title this season, so to be up there at this current stage of the campaign is an achievement in itself.

However, should we fail to win the title then I can only blame Wenger. The Frenchman’s incompetence and ignorance to strengthen during the January transfer window would be the sole reason for it. He knew Theo Walcott and Aaron Ramsey were out for the long-term, yet Wenger didn’t do anything about it. He knew Olivier Giroud was running out of steam and needed support upfront, yet he didn’t do anything about it. The only thing he did do during January proved to utterly pointless when he signed Kim Kallstrom on loan until the end of the season, knowing the Swede would face up to two months out with a back injury.

Sure the players will have to take some blame, some more than others, for their performances throughout the season. But ultimately it all comes down to Wenger and the way he went about things at certain times of the campaign.

When a team competes or want to compete for the EPL trophy, you can’t use out dated tactics with a kind of striker like giroud. This point brings out the reason for Ozil’s criticizm.

Listening to Wenger it appears he has already thrown in the towel!

You are wrong with your inference. Wenger was only stating the obvious as only one team would be crowned as the winner and others automatically become losers no matter how much they had tried. Please get your head to think objectively.

The fans are so wounded if we fail while le pros will.still go home smiling with his fat contract nd money saving for arsenal for not buying players.

If you are wounded go for treament. You are only an arm chair critic and not a real Arsenal fan. A real fan would give a life long commitment, come rain come sunshine.

Mourinho saying Wenger specialises in failure hurts Arsenal fans because every Arsenal fan knows deep down that he is correct. The simple fact that teams with far less resources than Wenger has had over the last eight years have enjoyed success shows Wenger to be ineffectual. I don’t rate him at all…

Come on listen to you all we were written off as title contenders after the first game of the season no surprise I suppose but we are still doing alot better then all supporters and pundits thought we would do before even a ball was kicked .and for the fans blaming Wenger come on i really wouldn’t want any one else managing us these guys are payed alot of money to play in our shirts and its time they performed for us wenger has done so much for our club since being manager its times like these we should show some respect and get behind him instead of asking for his head .

Maureen is acting like a complete Tool.Show some fucking respect towards Wenger, all Wenger said was that Maureen is understating his teams championship potential and Wenger is dead right.Wenger must really have hit a nerve with Maureen otherwise he wouldnt have acted like such a chav.Arsenal fans are right to criticise Wenger but that portugese turd should keep his gob closed,he havnt earned the right.

Soccer is a game of showing how good you are by winning titles and silverware not how much you generates into the club financial coffers. If we fail to win anything then Wenger is an idiots… Safeguarding club financial and failed to take honor means you are in the wrong career.Sports is a game of champions not jokers.Period.

To bad to call someone an idiot. In the public service it is called an indescent language that attracts a serious sanction. Where is your sense of good reasoning? Don’t you have any form of home training? Too bad for the way you are misusing this social medium. Please, find somebody to teach you good public communication.

Those who normally blame Wenger have been displaying their lack of understanding of football and of an utter disrespect to a man who stood by the club in order to ensure stability and future for the club. Wenger is a brave man, very frugal and considerate and does not believe in wastages unlike some maniacs who could spend any amount to win trophy irrespective of the source and who hop from one club to the other as soon as their secrets are known and leaving those clubs in financial mess. After 26games, Arsenal is second therefore why are the fans so pessimistic? With your so called poor players we have, we are second, then what made you think we would fade off? Is it because Liverpool beat us when they are fighting to be in Europe to avoid losing Suarez? Who told you that other teams would not drop points. Was it not the same team minus Ozil that went the rest of the season without a loss after that loss to Bayern.?The tough fixtures ahead do no necessarily mean that we would be annihilated. I would advise that if you unstable fans would not encourage the team, stop abusing them. As for me I am looking forward with hope as even the billionaire clubs cannot thumb their chest with certainty that they would win the cup. In truth all the top five teams are afraid of any eventuality. Please leave Wenger alone and show him respect as he had done much for the club. Without him, Arsenal would not have been known all over the world as he was instrumental into putting Arsenal on the world map.
