arsenal-badgeMy Arsenal player ratings from this evening’s 2-1 FA Cup win against Liverpool (feel free to argue or agree with me):

Lukasz Fabianski – The Polish goalkeeper impressed with some good saves from Luis Suarez and co. Read the game superbly and was consistent throughout. 8/10

Carl Jenkinson – Defended well and was able to keep up with pace of Raheem Sterling and Daniel Sturridge. Great energy levels and offered the overlap at times. 7/10

Per Mertesacker – Struggled in the early stages of the first-half with the pace of Suarez and was caught out at times which led to Liverpool chances. Got better as the game went on. 6/10

Laurent Koscielny – Composed himself well after initial positioning errors in the first-half. Grew into the game as it wore on and got stuck in. 7/10

Nacho Monreal – Was booked early which led to him being cautious when going in for a tackle. Did well. 6/10

Mikel Arteta – Showcased his passing range once again and was competent in midfield throughout. 6/10

Mathieu Flamini – Marshalled the midfield superbly and got stuck in. Led by example. Booked. 7.5/10

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – Drove the side forward constantly, made some clever and powerful runs throughout and netted Arsenal’s first. Man of the Match. 9/10

Lukas Podolski – Offered Arsenal more of an attacking threat and always looked to shot. Got back when needed to and scored Arsenal’s winner. Good outing for the German. 7.5/10

Mesut Ozil – Made things happened with his superb passing and awareness. Better energy levels this evening and is quietly proving his doubters wrong. Great performance by the German maestro. 7.5/10

Yaya Sanogo – Was isolated upfront but linked well with Chambo and wasn’t afraid of battling with Liverpool’s centre-backs. Bit clumsy at times but still has a lot to learn. 6/10

SUBS:

Santi Cazorla – Came on for Podolski in the 69th minute. Made a few decent passes here and there, and also some clever runs. Blasted a great chance over the bar. 5/10

Kieran Gibbs – Replace Chamberlain in the 75th minute. Offered more stability and protection to the booked Monreal and also got forward when in possession. N/A

Olivier Giroud – Came on for Sanogo in the 88th minute. Touched the ball once. N/A

You forgot Howard Webb!! Surely a 9/10, the only blight being his failure to send Gerrard off!!

Funny little fans booing after that, seeing as one of your players nearly broke Allen’s ankle at the beginning and got nothing……..

Yaya impressed me more than Giroud, he gave headache to the central deffender of liverpool. I loved the way he fought for the ball, he knew where to be @ each time to attack. Chamberlain made my day as the man of the march. Fabianski, fabulous saves and cautious all the time.

I suggest Wenger to use Podolski in more games than giroud. He keeps the pace high; the likes of Ox, Gibbs, Rosisky, Gnabry and Cazorla Can transform Yaya Sanogo into a wonderful striker.

    Yaya was exceptional!!
    Much more energetic than Giroud!
I think he should get more chances to prove himself!
    Ox was awesome!!! As always!
