WengerArsenal must fend off Benfica to land Nigerian youngster Musa Yahaya and Chidera Ezeh, according to players’ agent.

The two 16-year-olds are regarded as bright young talents in Africa, with both Yahaya and Ezeh both playing major roles in Nigeria’s Under-17 World Cup winning side.

Yahaya is a speedy left winger who netted four goals and assists in seven appearances in the tournament, while Ezeh, who mainly operates as a striker but can also play out wide on the left or behind the centre-forward, bagged just the one goal and three assists in six outings in the United Arab Emirates.

Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on both youngsters, but the Nigerians’ representative, Kevin Van Deyck, revealed the Gunners will have to battle it out with Benfica to land the duo.

He told talkSPORT.com:

‘We are finalising a deal with Arsenal and Benfica, who I am talking to as exclusive European representative for both players’

Manchester City and Liverpool have previously been linked with a move for Ezeh, while Yahaya has been tracked by Spurs in the past, but interest in both youngsters seems to have faded from the Premier League trio.

Arsenal now look favourites to land both starlets with Arsene Wenger renowned for snapping up young, raw talent.
