While many of us would love to see the controversial Luis Suarez join Arsenal this summer, one former Gunner has advised the 26-year-old to really think about signing for Arsene Wenger’s side and stay at least one more season at Anfield.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for Suarez in recent weeks, reportedly tabling two offers for the Uruguayan, including a cheeky £40 million plus £1 deal, which were both rejected by Liverpool.
Brendan Rodgers is determined to keep hold of Suarez and has valued him at around £55 million.
Wenger is willing to take his time to nab the Uruguayan striker, but Ian Wright believes, for Suarez’s sake, it wouldn’t be the player’s best option this summer:
‘I’d welcome him at Arsenal with open arms.
‘But if I was Suarez, when you look at everything, it does seem strange he would want to go to Arsenal. I would give Liverpool another season.
‘Arsenal finally realise they’ve got to get up there with the big boys otherwise they will be left behind.’
The ex-England striker went on to say:
‘Suarez is a world-class striker and if he didn’t have all the baggage around him, I feel the Barcelonas, Real Madrids and Bayern Munichs would be sniffing around.
‘That’s why I believe Arsenal should try to bring him in – because I feel it’s the only time they could get someone like that. In another market, I don’t think he’d even look at Arsenal.’
Everyone has there own opinion on Suarez. Me? I think he is a quality player who would supremely improve our squad and enhance our chances of lifting some silverware this season.
I don’t really get what Wright is waffling on about. Instead of encouraging players to come to his former club he is repelling them away!
This potential deal, in my opinion, is not dead in the water yet.

Danno your an idiot, If arsenal get him as we’ll as a few others the the sky’s the limit, what if arsenal got rid of the rest of the deadwood and brought in Suarez, erikson, fellani/bender, Williams and Cesar, There squad would not have any weakness in it what so ever, by signing these players they have as good as any other team to win the pl or even the cl with enough luck.

They have a smaller fanbase, smaller stadium, lower income, fewer trophies, and finished behind us in the league last season (just as they have done every season since Blackburn won the Premier League!).
You’d have to be in your mid-20s to remember their last FA Cup win, your mid-30s for their last European trophy and your mid-to-late 50s for their last championship winning side.
