‘If it happens, it would be amazing’

Wayne RooneyJack Wilshere believes it would be ‘amazing’ if Arsenal manage to sign Wayne Rooney this summer.

The Gunners are reportedly chasing the unsettled Manchester United forward and are said to be preparing a £20 million opening offer.

And while many former Gunners reckon Rooney isn’t what Arsenal require to end their eight year trophy drought, Wilshere insists his England team-mate would help bring the glory days back to the north London club, should Arsene Wenger sign the 27-year-old.

Quoted in The Sun, the 21-year-old midfield said:

‘If it happens, it would be amazing.

‘He is the type of player who can win you trophies – and just to see his name on the team sheet brings fear to the opposition.

‘We could do with a little more of that.’

Wenger has plenty of cash to splash this summer thanks to the financial state of Arsenal FC – clearing the stadium debt and sealing a multimillion shirt deal with Puma and all.

And although Rooney’s wages range between the £200-250,000-a-week mark, Arsenal CAN afford to offer him the same deal.

We need winners and experience in order to challenge for silverware next season, and Rooney possesses both.

Hopefully, this rumour escalates to something more concrete and official in the upcoming weeks.

Arse Anal, stop wasting your time man, this isn’t about football, this is about your need for therapy, stop visiting blogs for football clubs you don’t even support and go do something productive with your life, trying to help you

Ha ha, muppet! Manure went 26 years without a trophy, until SAF revived the club… And guess who’s just left?

The arsenal have never gone anywhere near that long without a trophy!

Not a smart thing for Lil Jack to say: if we do not sign him (and let’s face it, we probably won’t) then every time we play him, Rooney will be thinking we are scared of him?

Why give your opponent any edge?

Why waste good money on Rooney this year when his value will be way lower next season. We have more pressing requirements. To my mind he’d represent a vanity purchase rather like robinho at man city
