Vito MannoneAndrey Arshavin has gone back to Zenit, Nicklas Bendtner looks set to depart after Arsenal have accepted five offers for the Dane, while Johan Djourou is expected to join Hamburg on loan.

The latest name to be added to the list of casualties is Vito Mannone, who, according to The Sun, is wanted by Sunderland, with the Black Cats ready to offer£2.8 million for the shot-stopper.

It is thought the 25-year-old is wanted by Paolo Di Canio to replace Simon Mignolet, who is leaving to join Liverpool, and talks between the two clubs are believed to be underway with a deal expected to be completed before Monday.

Mannone joined Arsenal in 2006 but has failed to breakthrough into the first-team. During this time he has been loaned out to Barnsley and Hull and only managed to make 13 appearances for Arsenal last season due to injuries to both Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Fabianski who are both ahead of him in the pecking order.

And with Julio Cesar reportedly on Arsene Wenger’s wanted list this summer, Mannone will surely see less action than he did last season.

If we can get £2.8 million for him we’ll be laughing.
