After a clinching fourth spot on the final day of the campaign and securing Champions League football next season, Arsenal trio Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Kieran Gibbs and Carl Jenkinson swapped the pitch for cockpit as they learned how to fly and land a plane in a simulator machine in Dubai.
They were briefed about how to land an Emirates A380 airline before taking to the controls.
Some seemed to handle the test better than others.
I won’t give away who performed the best, but one on the lads confidently said after his experience:
‘I’ve got it under control boys! We’re down in one piece.’
But one of the three certainly had a nerve-racking experience and it showed with his ‘landing’ which would have burst two tyres and brought down the oxygen masks!
Let’s hope the team aim higher next season and ‘land’ some silverware.
