We’ve been linked with a move for Marouane Fellaini, and although the Belgian midfielder is happy at Everton, he has stated in the past that he will consider leaving the Merseyside club for one participating in the Champions League next season.
Arsene Wenger is REPORTEDLY looking to add quality to his squad this summer and is eyeing up a move for the 25-year-old Everton man.
However, recent reports suggest the Frenchman is unwilling to meet the £23 million release clause in Fellaini’s contract. Is he for real?
Ivan Gazidis has stressed time and time again that Wenger will have sufficient funds available to spend, but is looks like Le Boss is reluctant to spend over-the-odds for any potential recruits this summer. Nothing new there then.
But following the departure of David Moyes, Fellaini’s future looks unclear, despite Roberto Martinez wanting to keep the midfielder. And after five years at Goodison Park, making 171 appearances and finding the net 32 times, the Belgium international may well seek a new challenge if a club like Arsenal come calling.
So why is Wenger refusing (reportedly of course) to splash out £23 million on a proven, Premier League star? It’s simply beyond me.
What does he expect to get Fellaini for? £10 million? It’s just not going to happen.
The fact is if you want to sign the big-names you have to spend big money. Unfortunately that’s the way football is nowadays. And it’s not like we can’t afford to sign him. We are in a very secure financial state from what I hear.
£23 million, I think, is a fair valuation for Fellaini. He has proven over the years that he is a quality player and I can’t for the life of me think why Wenger wouldn’t want lined up alongside the likes of Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere. The Belgian is tenacious, great in the air, bags goals and isn’t afraid to put his foot in. He would be a brilliant signing for us in every sense.
If Wenger is expecting to buy quality players for small amounts of money and compete for silverware next season then he’s got another thing coming.
Just do the right thing for once and forget about the consequences – cough up the £23 million and sign the midfielder who can ultimately make the difference for us next season. It’s as simple as that!

He actually said he was going to be pro-active. Well where has that been the case. We have bought no one. Our board of directors are so old we need defibrillators in the board meetings. Gladis and wenger must go like the way their mad chairman did. They want to buy cheap, useless french players only. Arsenal must first sign a normal coach b4 signing 4 quality players.A normal coach will sign 2 quality strikers and a quality defensive midfielder and play maker to replace Rosisky. Then a quality centre half and a right footer to replace Sagna. I think a new coach will cast his net wider not wenger who just go to Paris and recruit useless players at his home.
outside the transfer window the men in charge will talk the talk ,but once window opens those same men will go quiet ,haggle of a pound ,higuain will sign for Chelsea,fellini join man utd and Ashley Williams join liverpol,all wenger will sign is cesar on a free transfer and tell supporters that arsenal don’t need a new midfielder because diaby will be fit again in march!
To be honest, I have lost all the faith that I had in this old man, he has run out of ideas who the best player could really be. He will go to league one and bring an average player; with a so called bright future, I think that is what he is looking for sop he can spend less. Wenger, you are so stingy, I wonder how you manage your own family. Just pack your bags and go, so that we can arrange for a new coach earlier before the transfer window closes. We need a coach who does not lie to the fans, Wenger is a liar and will keep lying to the fans every transfer window to keep the fans convinced of brighter future. That is what he does every season, unless you are new to him, you can easily see that. He is a corn man, corns fans of their money and does nothing at the end, only excuses and promises. the problem is not if fellaini is worth the money, the problem is wenger doesn’t know how to spend the money. we castrated him a few years ago for not spending big, so he went out and broke arsenals transfer record – the result Jose Antonio Reyes, who at the time was worth the money. Then everyone was screaming at him 5 years ago, to break the record again, he did – the result andrey arshavin, well we all know how that turned out. 4 years ago everyone was screaming at him to sign the best player in the champions league at the time for £25m – his name marounne chamakh, this time wenger bottled it, but landed him a year or so later on a free. Well we all know how that turned out, but still wenger gets slated for spending fuck all on a fuck up, that everyone wanted….damned if u do damned if you don’t. perhaps torres £50m and Carroll £35m will keep everyone happy???
Firstly sign a proven midfielder? Are you serious , has he not always done that? Santi, Rosicky, Viera, Heleb, Petit, Pires. Just to name a few

The best way is to keep well quiet because as soon as other teams know who we are interested in they try and sign them before us, mainly Chelsea who jhave been after our scout’s for years. to name a few players they nicked Mata, Hazard, Cahill
