Besiktas keen on Arsenal shot-stopper

|

Lukasz FabianskiBesiktas want to sign Lukasz Fabianski, according to the Daily Star Sunday.

With the Poland international out of contract next season and behind Wojciech Szczesny in the pecking order, as well as Arsene Wenger eyeing up a number of goalkeepers this summer, Fabianski might well feel the time is right to move on.

It is thought Besiktas are looking for a potential replacement for Allan McGregor, who is a target of Hull City’s, and have pinpointed the Arsenal shot-stopper as the perfect successor to the 31-year-old Scotland international.

Fabianski signed for Arsenal from Leiga Warsaw in 2007 from £2.5 million and has made a total of 63 appearances for The Gunners.

The 28-year-old looked to have turned a corner when he replaced Szczesny in goal after the defeat to Spurs, conceding just three goals in five matches.

However, Fabianski found himself on the bench in Arsenal’s last six games of the season and will probably drop further down the pecking order this summer with Wenger reportedly keen to sign an experienced goalkeeper.

If we manage to sign a goalkeeper before the end of the transfer window, a good one might I add, then we might as well get rid of Fabianski, who will more than likely want to leave if this occurs.
