Should Arsenal take a £10M punt on this Gabon forward?

|

Pierre-Emerick AubameyangArsenal target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang reckons a €12 million bid for him would be enough for Saint-Etienne to consider selling the Gabon international.

The 23-year-old, who has netted 16 goals in 23 Ligue 1 appearances so far this season, was recently quoted as saying:

‘If people are talking about me then I am not aware of it. But if someone offers €12million to the club I do not know if I’ll go or not.

‘I am calm because I still have two years on my contract to go.’

Known for his skill, pace and technical ability, Aubameyang has attracted the likes of Newcastle, Fiorentina, PSG and Borussia Dortmund. And with room for improvement and Arsene Wenger’s history of plucking young talent from the French league, should Le Boss consider shelling out €12 million (£10 million) for the Gabon forward at the end of the season?

Many of us still believe we require another striker to come in this summer. Although Olivier Giroud has done well in his first-full season at Arsenal, I personally think we need another capable centre-forward to step in when the French striker is off his game. Is Aubameyang that man? He very well could be.

I reckon he would our style of football perfectly, due to his pace and movement off and on the ball, and his goal-scoring record this season makes for great reading to all those statisticians out there. He is also very versatile, two-footed and would provide us with goals and assists.

He may not be the 30 goal-a-season striker we desperately need, but to part with £10 million for his signature would be seen as a bargain. And under the tutelage of Wenger, Aubameyang could become a world-class player in the near future.

Should Arsenal table a £10 million bid for the Saint-Etienne striker this summer?

It’s a big gamble which Wenger cannot afford to make. Vela,Brendthner,Ashvin etc tell the story of misfiring strikers. Wenger will better off buying the established wc players.

Using both feet to shoot is an advantage.

We all know Arsene wont spent the money and buy a established WC player, but with likes of joel cambell, and additional purchase of Cabella, Stootman, Pierre EA.Vorm, Nicolas N’koulou with these additions we have will have a team capable of beating any team in Europe.
