Will he stay or will he go?

|

Lukas PodolskiAlthough he was signed from FC Koln last summer, Lukas Podolski’s future at Arsenal is uncertain.

The German forward was reportedly linked (two weeks ago) with a move away from The Emirates at the end of the current campaign, with Juventus and Atletico Madrid understood to be keen on the 27-year-old.

Podolski has had a mixed season for The Gunners to say the least, scoring eight goals and assisting with nine in the Premier League but he has been substituted 19 of his 25 league appearances. His last start for Arsenal came against Liverpool back in late January and has since been placed on the bench, making cameo appearances.

As a result, the German’s future at The Emirates looks unsure, even more so after revealing that he is honoured by the interest shown in him by Juventus, but has not spoken to them or any other club about a possible summer move.

He told Italian Calciomercatonews.com:

‘I have not spoken with any club about my future. But I can say that the interest of clubs like Juventus is an honour for me.’

However, Podolski was newly quoted in The Sun dismissing rumours of his possible departure from Arsenal this summer:

‘Firstly, I cannot help it that clubs are interested in me.

‘Secondly any interest makes me proud because it is a recognition of my performance.

‘It is unlikely I will leave because, at the club and in the town, I feel really comfortable.’

So, will he stay or will he go?

Having invested in him we may as well hold on to him and see how he develops certainly for next season.Remember it took Pires some time to prosper

Why dont you print the complete quote?
He says that he is very happy at Arsenal and living in London and he sees no reason for leaving.
With Jelovic (?) hinting he would like a move to the Emirates, thats the story we should be looking at isnt it???

Ken – of course he is happy at Arsenal. There is no pressure from anyone at the club to do well or even try hard – just pick up the silly wages that he steals from the club and continue to play like a clueless donkey every game…

Podolski has over 100 caps for a good german team so he can obviously play .Hes done ok this year but the collective malaise appears to have got to him.As with mertesacker, his second season may see him develop into a mire assured pl player
