Ok, I’m going to keep this short and sweet – Arsenal need to bang in three goals and keep a clean sheet against Bayern Munich tonight at the Allianz Arena in order to advance the quarter-finals of the Champions League. If there was ever a mission impossible, this is it!
But with the fight to finish in the top four in the Premier League back on, following Spurs’ loss last Sunday to Liverpool, and the unlikelihood of us actually accomplishing the impossible against Bayern – should Arsene Wenger focus on the long-term rather than just one game? A game which he has very little chance to achieve what we all want?
Don’t get me wrong, I would love nothing more than for Arsenal to progress further in the Champions League, but there are more important matters at hand now.
With that being said, what should our starting line-up look like tonight?
As I, realistically, can’t see us qualifying – due to Bayern’s unbelievable form this season, especially at home – I would like to see Wenger rest a few players that may be a bit jaded or picked up a knock.
If he’s going to go for it, like he’s said, then here is how I would like Wenger to set out the team:
Szczesny
Jenkinson Koscielny Vermaelen Monreal
Coquelin Arteta
Chamberlain Cazorla
Walcott Giroud
It may look like a stupid formation, but what have we got to lose!
I just hope we don’t pick up any unwanted injuries as we approach the business end of the season.
So, who do you guys reckon should start for us against Bayern?

This would have been a perfect chance for Arshavin to play in that no 10 position. And Diarby to play alongside Arteta. Great start along way to go
