What should Wenger do with this ageing Gunner?

|

Tomas RosickyWell it seems we have gone back in time, as Tomas Rosicky’s future at Arsenal is once again looks in doubt.

The Czech international has struggled to feature for The Gunners this season with the summer arrival of Santi Cazorla, as well as suffering with persistent injuries.

As a result, the 32-year-old has become somewhat of a fringe player at The Emirates, managing to feature only 11 times for Arsenal this season and recently expressed his frustration with his current role at the club.

Rosicky was quoted in the Metro saying:

‘Naturally, I would like to play more often, that’s for sure.

‘I feel very well, the results in fitness tests were the same as they were in previous seasons when I played regularly.’

‘It’s the manager’s team and I fully respect his decisions. I cannot do anything else other than train properly and wait for a chance.’

Well it seems Rosicky’s former club Dortmund are interested in re-signing the playmaker, with the German club prepared to offer him a pay-as-you-play deal.

So what should we do with our ‘Little Mozart’? Ultimately, his future is down to Arsene Wenger to decide.

Needless to say, Rosicky has fallen out-of-favour with Wenger, with Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta, Cazorla and even Abou Diaby all ahead of him in the midfield pecking order, hence his limited appearances in the side this season.

Clearly Tomas isn’t happy with his current role, but is prepared to wait for his chance. But how long until this comes around? We don’t know, neither does he.

If Wenger doesn’t see him in his future plans and Rosicky wants to play elsewhere then the Frenchman should look to move him on. It wouldn’t be fair on Rosicky to sit on the bench when he wants to play regular football – something I can’t really see him doing at Arsenal anymore.

Great squad player, keep him. Needs to come on as a sub to give rests to Jack & Santi.

his injoured most of the time…paying 60-70k for a squad player that plays 4-5 a year is whats the problem in our team. we pay too much to players that hardly play. his 32 his past his best we should of sold him 2 years ago. his been great with us but there comes a time where we need to think bout the squad.

Agree with Sou 1 keep him he livens up the play when he comes on. Rather him than Ramsey

little mozart’s game is live.wenger give this guy more playing time.he saved our season last when we were on the hitch.he is indespensible.

The very words ‘even Abou Diaby ahead of him’ made me shudder. There could not be too more contrasting midfielders with Rosicky still all energy & go in great contrast to Diaby’s ambling stroll which slows everything up.
With Wilshere injured and Arteta looking tired, I would love to see Tomas get more playing time; I am sure we would be rewarded. We let Pires go far too soon and I think it would be the same mistake if we do not keep Rosicky as an important part of our squad

The strange thing is that Rosicky doesnt get a chance to play despite being our best midfielder by 1000 miles. If someone needs to go its Wenger, certainly not Rosicky. What Rosicky deserves is a statue, the captains armband and a regular starting place and just see him end Arsenal’s trophyless run in a wink.

    • Glenn says:

Wow I completely agree 100 % with you. I also think Arsenal should get a special group of doctors to take care of mozart who would work very hard to make sure he always stays fit and recovers effectively from each game. If we can keep Rosicky fit for the whole year theres no doubt he will bring trophies back to Arsenal.

      • Jason says:

You are both idiots. I like Rosicky don’t get me wrong but “best midfielder by 1000 miles?” What the hell are you smoking? He is good, he deserves more playing time. I would like to see him start in front of Ramsey since he doesn’t seem to be good at anything. But he is not the answer to our 8 years without a trophy.

  • Abdullahi Ameen says:

Just look at the diffrence between our game against Buyern Munich at their home, with Rozisky and without him…

  • Igburu samuel says:

rosicky is one of the best mildfielder we have presently he is highly talented ,great in passing and dribbling playing a team football the kind of football arsenal is known for,our game against blackburn that we lost in fa cup is a good example. Please mr wenger do not allow him to leave what a great mistake if you do

  • mohamedaziz says:

he is better than diaby needs regular time on the pitch and he has pace

  • ivorstephens says:

Rosicky has always flattered to deceive.Last season he played well after christmas, earned a new contract and promptly got injured again.probably a nice guy and good for the group dynamics but its time for us(and him) to move on
