Roggi reiterates Arsenal interest but no contact made

|

mattia perinMattia Perin’s agent, Matteo Roggi, has reiterated Arsenal’s interest in the 20-year-old shot-stopper but claims there has been no contact with the north London club.

Last week, Roggi claimed several European clubs, which included Barcelona, AC Milan, Napoli, Roma, Juventus and Arsenal, have all been tracking Perin, who is currently on loan at Pescara from Genoa.

Roggi also confirmed Perin’s price-tag, which stands at £17.4 million, and that he will spend at least on more season at Genoa, who he is contracted to until 2017.

But despite being watch by Arsenal representatives, on a number of occasions, according to Roggi, he says he has not received any phone calls asking about the young Italian’s availability.

He was quoted on Skysports.com telling Italian sports website Calciomercato.it:

‘We have not had direct contact with any club but I know that Arsenal sent their observers several times to follow him closely and that there are many other clubs interested.

‘The certainty is that at the end of this season Mattia will return to Genoa, with whom he recently extended his contract until 2017. And I think that next year Perin will wear the Rossoblu shirt.’

I’m sure Arsenal are looking at a number of players ahead of the summer transfer window. And with Perin likely to remain at Genoa for at least another season, I doubt The Gunners will even bother picking up the phone and calling Roggi at all.
