Get real Wenger

|

Arsene WengerI would love nothing more than for Arsenal to go to Bayern Munich in midweek and pull off the result of all results and progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League. But let’s face it – it’s not going to happen is it?

Many fans out there reading this will more than likely leave a comment below saying ‘keep the faith’ or ‘believe we can do it’ some crap like that, and will probably refer to that game against Milan last season, where we were only one goal short of taking it to extra-time. Well I would like to say to all of those fans, Bayern are on another level this season.

The Bundesliga giants have accumulated an impressive 66 points in 25 league games, losing just one. They have netted 67 goals in the German league, conceding just 10, and have been unbeaten since October 28th! That’s a 20 game unbeaten run in all competitions!

We got spanked and were simply taught a footballing lesson by them almost three weeks ago, losing 3-1 at home in the first-leg, meaning we have to score three against a side who are solid at the back WITHOUT conceding. It’s just not going to happen.

Arsene Wenger has this daft idea that we can turn it around, but who is he kidding.

The Frenchman said:

‘We have to try to gamble a little bit, go into the game in a very positive mood and get them to be a bit insecure. I don’t think we have to be cautious on the night.

‘Bayern have such an advantage that we need a goal. If we keep it tight, they’ll always think we have to score three and, the closer it gets to the end, the more comfortable they’ll be.

‘We’re chasing the game in a very difficult environment against a team that has no doubts at all.

‘Our mentality is to go there, not resigned, but ambitious and provoke things – not go there and think ‘We’ll not qualify anyway’.

‘We have to try to put Bayern on the back foot and the only way to do it is to be very positive from the start.

‘I don’t think you can just switch it on after an hour if you have been cautious.

‘When you have been cautious against a team like Bayern, you risk being 1-0 down as well.’

He added:

‘How will we approach it tactically? I haven’t decided yet. It will be with an ambitious plan, that is for sure.’

So 4-2-3-1 as always Wenger? If he is going to be ambitious and going to go for it then he has to either play a 3-1-4-2 or a 4-2-4 – simple as that. But he’s going to be predictable as always and play that stupid system that doesn’t work for us.

Wenger went on to say:

‘Yes, the chance is small but the chance makes the impossible possible. We have to try to achieve it.’

‘We will remember what we did in the second leg against Milan last year when this match arrives.

‘We will fight until the very end.’

Good to hear but I’d rather Wenger rest our big players against Bayern this week and concentrate on finishing in the top four, which is a more achievable goal.

It is as wenger have missed a decade of evolving football and he still think he is Yoda. His tactics are not working his players draft are ridicilous and his tedious, cumbersome speeches are getting so tiring i feel physically sick everytime he speaks out, everything he says is utter tribe or regurgitated bull from seasons ago,it is painfull and the worst thing about it is that he think he is so clever.

Wenger is an intelligent articulate man.Unlike so many in football he is given neither to cliche or hyperbole.Arsenal has always had class and Arsene dovetails with that. The man cant help it if players move for monet(and lets face it apart from fabregas they all did with an almost universal decline in their careers). So what if weve missed a few years trophies,we’re in a decent position with some classy young players.Given proper backing,Wenger and Arsenal wont be far away again shortly

why at all do some people support wenger?selling our best players within two seasons should tell you that he has no vision.as far as wenger is concerned, arsenal will win no trophy.it became clear that walcot could not play upfront within the first ten minutes of the bayern game yet he did not do anything about it.tactically,he is poor.selling your best player to a rival you intend to beat for the title makes as much sense as stating publicly that being in fourth position is like winning a trophy.the top four finish has been wenger’s saving grace.

No wilshere unfortunately so arteta and diaby to hold, please no ramsey..Gibbs is back,so get him and jenkinson to bomb forward, and instruct cazorla to pull the strings centrally.Above all,GO FOR IT!As brilliant as bayern are I gave a feeling that they suffer

….from overconfidence and might not particularly handle pressure well.
