Arsenal have been linked with so many players this summer, it’s hard to keep up or say which ones are actually rumours or real.
Valencia’s Adil Rami is just one of a handful of centre-backs reportedly making his way to The Emirates this summer, with The Gunners apparently frontrunners for the Frenchman’s signature.
However, reports in Russia claim Arsenal face a battle with Anzhi to land the 27-year-old, who has been in impressive form for Valencia.
The Russian club are, according to talkSPORT.com, ready to offer the La Liga club £13 million to sign Rami and give him a wage package which would see him pocket over £3 million a year.
It is suggested that our club is looking to solve their defensive problems, as Thomas Vermaelen’s future supposedly hangs in the balance, and Arsene Wenger sees Rami as an ideal replacement.
Well if the latest is to be believed and Anzhi are indeed interested in Rami, then the stingy board will have to reach deep into their pockets in order to deliver the robust defender to Wenger this summer. In any case, mega-rich Anzhi will surely outbid us, thus we will have to look elsewhere.
