So the FA Cup game against Blackburn is just around the corner and the Champions League clash against Bayern Munich is drawing nearer, day by day. Yet still our players feel the need to comment and say that it is important to progress.
This is a recent quote from Per Mertesacker:
‘We still have an important cup game on Saturday (first) – we absolutely want to advance in the FA Cup, that is why the preparations for Bayern are not that intense yet.
‘However, beginning on Sunday the preparations for Tuesday’s match will be extreme.
‘Bayern are doing superb this year and that is a big challenge for us, but we are looking forward to both legs.’
Now is it only me or does this sound like an excuse, just incase they don’t win on Saturday against Rovers or against the German giants next week?
Why does Per need to state that they are training for the FA Cup tie? Surely we all know this and want the team to progress without being told that they are more focused on a team that Arsenal have played against a lot over the past 10 years or so?
I really don’t think we need reminding that Arsenal FC are struggling to see a final in the last few years.

Yes it is you
erm….dont u think that someone had asked him a question that led to his response? The press are always askin dumb questions and always get obvious answers…how many times have you seen a manager get asked how good a win is after a game? The answers are always gonna be obvious.
You need to stop thinking so much. Up the Arse!
Lighten up. What do you expect him to say. Give the man a break.
Damn! What is this? Withdrawals? Desperation?
Think it is you. he was probably asked aboutwhich was more important blackburn or bayern game and it was his response to that question. yes it may be obvious but its still nice to know that the team are concentrating on one game at a time
I’m happy they are in training!
Should leave Vermeulin and Kosceilny out. The defence ar Sunderland was void of sloppy mistakes and falling overs, They stood tall.
