Arsenal are keeping tabs on Udinese right-back Dusan Basta, according to talkSPORT.com.

The 28-year-old’s current contract at the Serie A club expires at the end of the season but talks over a new deal have apparently stalled.

Udinese want to tie down Basta for four more years, but the Serbia international, who can also operate on the wing, is thought to be keen on a move to the Premier League.

TalkSPORT claim Arsene Wenger has already sent scouts to watch the defender and will decide on whether to take their interest further when the winter transfer window opens in January.

Unless Udinese are unable to get Basta to commit his future to the club by January then it is thought that they will look to sell him, giving Arsenal the chance to snap him up on a free transfer next summer.

Basta has been with Udinese since 2008 and accumulated a total of 61 appearances in all competitions for the Zebrette.
