‘How can he go to Arsenal after spending eight years at Chelsea?’

Didier Drogba has been linked with a move to Arsenal, but Stamford Bridge favourite Ray Wilkins reckons the Ivorian would not seal a move to The Emirates because of his ties with Chelsea.

Many still believe we need to sign a striker, even though we signed two in Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud over the summer, and the media have this time linked us with the ex-Marseille forward.

But Wilkins claims Drogba would be reluctant to move to Arsenal, despite having a troublesome time with new club Shanghai Shenhua:

‘How can he go to Arsenal after spending eight years at Chelsea?

‘Didier, in his heart of hearts, would think that’s a step too far.’

Well in response to Wilkins first comments – how about Robin van Persie, who spent eight years with us, to Manchester United this summer mate?

Many players these days do not care about the rivalry between clubs and have fairly little loyalty if not any.

As for Drogba in general, I think he would consider a move to Arsenal, but I don’t think we necessarily need him – signing a 34-year-old looks a bit desperate to me (Thierry Henry is a different matter altogether) and I think we need to give our new players a chance to strut their stuff, as I believe they can produce for us this season.

Even though i doubt Drogba would come and that Wenger would go for him, what Ray Wilkins says is a bit silly. I mean RVP spent 8+ years with us and now he has gone to Manu unfortunately these sort of things happen all the time especially with mercenary type players.

But Arsenal will not destroy their wage structure to accomodate him especially now that he is past his best and is on the decline headint to mid thirties.

he is not welcome and anyways the story came from the sun newspaper so therefore is total rubbish!
why would arsenal pay crazy wages for a 34yo overrated, cheating, ex-chelsea legend (shows the class of both their club and player!! we have legends like bergkamp and henry..they have drogba and jt!! hahaha) lucky, muggy c*nt??
chamackh over drogba anyday even if drogba can score lucky, dirty goals!! why stoop to that level? not worth it!
any arsenal fan who respects drogba or thinks this is a good idea is deluded! and a media brainwashed, glory supporter!!
podolski, giroud, chamackh, theo, gervinho and even the ox are much better options as a striker than didier drogba!!!
liverpool on the other hand need a striker and like buying awful players so if anywhere then it will be there (or back to chelsea when they realise torres is even worse than drogba!! lol)
