Jose Mourinho will let Nuri Sahin leave Real Madrid to join Arsenal on loan.
Arsene Wenger wants to sign the 23-year-old initially on a season-long loan as the Frenchman continues to strengthen his squad.
The Turkish international is one of Wenger’s top transfer targets this summer and Mourinho has said that he is willing to let the creative maestro leave, as competition for midfield places at the Santiago Bernabeu is fierce.
Quoted in The Guardian, Mourinho said:
‘The point is that he’s a young boy who wants to play every match.
‘He wants to play to be happy and in Real Madrid with Xabi Alonso, Sami Khedira, Lassana Diarra, Esteban Granero and Mesut Ozil, the situation is not easy.
‘Real Madrid is very difficult. It is not an easy club, because we demand a lot.
‘We have great players and when you don’t start well, it’s difficult to do it.’
He added:
‘If he stays, he’s not a problem for me. He’s one more solution. We are leaving the situation in his hands.
‘Decide what you want to decide, to be happy. If you decide to leave we’re going to help you to leave.
‘If you decide to stay, we’re going to support you and try to succeed this season.’
Spurs are also believed to be interested in the former Dortmund midfielder, but it seems Arsenal are favourites to land him before flying over to Germany next week.
Since joining Madrid, over a year ago, Sahin has only made 10 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish side.
If we manage to pull it off, this would be a great piece of business by Wenger and our club, as Sahin is an inventive player who will definitely improve our squad.

As a Gooner,I hope AW does not waste any time in signing Nuri Sahin because he is a very very good player and would fit perfectly in the middle with Cazorla and Arteta.
We need players to strengthen the defence. Outstanding players we have sign is Victor Wanyama of Celtic, Montepellier captain Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, and M’Baye Niang,
I don’t understand Kleef’s comment. If Surin is such a good player why the hell wouldn’t he want him to come to Arsenal, doesn’t he think Arsenal are good enough for him? Answer me that! I think he would fit in perfectly, especially as we cannot rely on Diaby to last a whole season, Wilshere’s not back until October and Rosicky is also injury prone so we need players in midfield. We have the money to purchase Surin outright so I say go for it.
